History

The history of Hi-Way Service Garage, starts with the founder, Isie Buechner. Isie was born and raised in Cross Plains, WI. Isie operated a service station for several years during the depression. In 1943, Isie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to fight in World War II. In 1945, he was discharged with the rank of Tec/Sgt., receiving several outstanding decorations including the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war Isie returned to his life in Cross Plains, WI with his wife, Adeline Buechner and family. In 1946, Isie and business partner, Fred Ramharter, built a large portion of the building Hi-Way Service, where it still currently stands. Four years later, Isie bought out his business partner to become full owner of Hi-Way Service Garage, then a trucking company. In 1956, Isie became the newest member of the Nash Franchise family. In 1966, the Jeep franchise was added the already expanding company. With the death of Isie Buechner in 1998, his son, Ray Buechner, took over the business Isie had been training him to do since he started working for his father in 1968. With 30 years under his belt, Ray made a good fit taking over as Principle Dealer and Principle Owner.
